Jazz bass wiring help - master volume + blend, with a push-pull tone pot for series/parallel

Wondering if you've ran across this issue...
I've never tried this circuit. It came from Stealth, but DDawg has used it in many basses. Hopefully one of them will chime in. I tested a series/parallel, with tone controls for each pickup, that used a 3p2t switch and it worked fine. I like Stealth's better than mine for using a 2p2t switch, but like I said, haven't tested it.

That's what I'd do, too. I just like have the Bridge circuitry hard-grounded first.

Since the Neck Pickup, Neck Volume, and newly installed Neck Tone, now have to use the switchable ground, did you accidentally hook a hard ground to any of those Neck components?

That's the weird thing. I've got it as VVTT with tone hooked to each pickup and neg for neck and ground for bridge side. It all functions. Volumes work in both series and parallel, and tones appear to work, but not big enough cap... so hard to tell. I put .033 uf in there and a switch to add another .033 uf on each T. And even all turned off (should be ~ .120 uf), there isnt much variation. Everything works, but no variation in tone at all. bridge sounds kinda like a quieter neck. I moved it closer to strings and that helped some, but I don't have more to move.

I also swapped pickups at the same time. I probably should have only swapped controls first, then pickups. One thing at a time instead of 10 things. oh well.

and you'd think the neck would be the problem side. Bridge is the one that's not coming through with typical J bridge sound

It's incredibly cramped, and it's possible stuff is touching where it shouldn't. I'm not sure. I'm about to give up on this diagram and put in a variant that's really closed to 60's stacked.... but not stacked, and a no load on the tones. Would give a bunch more room that's for sure. The schematic above probably needs a PCB and not 1000 wires to make it all fit nicely.
 
To sum up the info above, here's the main issue regarding your setup : A properly working series/parallel switch with blend requires a 3pdt, and 3pdt is extremelly rare on push-pull.

There are basically 3 ways around this :
- Use a 2pdt push-pull but in series the blend will act as a volume. You will need to roll it fully to one end to enjoy your series wiring.
- Use a 3pdt switch rather than a push-pull.
- Find a 3pdt push-pull, which may take a while. Banzai Music used to have some, some builders like MEC can do them custom for you, you may also be able to find one eventually on Reverb or eBay.

I don't get it. Why do you say Line6man's push-pull (2pdt) wiring scheme will results in M/N blend pot acting as a volume and need to roll to one end in series mode? When in series mode doesn't Line6man's scheme connect both blend center lugs to the same neck PU+ so at any blend pot rotation position it's allowing a 100% straight path through to the output?
