A few questions for you Fender experts.

Has the Fender Jazz body always been in its current shape with the offset body? I thought I saw some early Fender Jazz basses where the body didn't have the large offset body where the controls are located.

Also, are the Jazz body variations (Deluxe, Standard, Squire, MIM, and MIA) Jazz the same body shape?

The Jazz bass has had the offset body since it's inception.

There have been some variations on that theme since and the Deluxe is one of those variations. Another was the Jazz plus of the '90s with a slightly smaller body. However both still maintained an offset waist style body. There are other variations out there.

The Jazz special in the late 80s was a P body style, P-width neck

The Deluxe has a deeper cutaway or something.

The Jazz Bass Plus from the late 80's had a larger upper horn.
