Jazz bridge pup picking up pick noise

Hey,

I have a Fender MIM Jazz and keep both pups turned up. I sometimes accidentally tap the bridge pickup with my pick as Im playing and I can hear it through the amp. I can tap the neck pickup and I dont hear it through the amp like i do with the bridge. Both pups height are set about 3/8" from the strings.

Any ideas why this is happening?
