One of my college auditions requires a jazz or classical etude and I would prefer to do a jazz etude but can't seem to find one for double bass. Anyone know of something like this?

Double Bass jazz etude?

JOhn Patitucci has a book of etudes and some are of a jazz vein depending on how you interpret them.
Teppo Hauto-Aho has written a lot of music for double bass. One of his solo arco pieces has been performed and won some competitions, as I understand it. He also wrote a Jazz Sonantine for solo double bass which includes tributes to Paul Chambers, Charles Mingus and Scott Lafaro:

This might be of interest. They are not too difficult but include some interesting use of harmonics, snapping fingers, tapping etc. Well worth considering. There may be other useful compostitions by him as well, here's teh result of a search on him at the Tutti site:

I think Tutti is operated by UK Double BAssist David Heyes, so it's a good resource for bass sheet music.

I do know that song but I dont know if that would count as an etude any opinions?
Double Bassist magazine publishes things like this in the middle pages of each edition - they have occasionally come up with Jazz ones!
