Jazz fusion song identification

Hello, TB!
I've always been lurking these forums, but today I finally made an account!

I've had this song stuck in the back of my head from time to time and I can't get an answer as to what the song is called or who played it. I found this song in a demo video for Powell Peralta in the early 80s (For those unfamiliar - Powell Peralta is skateboard company that rose to fame in the 80s with their team riders known as The Bones Brigade).

The video plays two songs throughout - the first is Ultravox's "All stood still", but at the 4:26 mark, a jazz fusion song starts to play and immediately caught my ears - it's got that 70s/early 80s fusion style that I really enjoy. I've tried Shazam and other similar apps, but no result. Maybe someone in the Youtube comments would answer - nope. So I thought maybe the fine people on Talkbass could give me an answer or even point me somewhere. Do you know this song? My four year journey would finally have some closure :laugh:

Heads-up: While you enjoy the early 80s bowl and freestyle skating from these skateboarding legends, the audio lacks low-end and is very trebly.

What a great era for skateboarding. Me and my buds used to tear it up all over northern NJ and Soho NYC, Brooklyn Bridge banks...

Bones Brigade. The search for Animal Chin was the bomb! Many a rainy day when we couldn't skate were spent watching these videos. Yapple-Dapple! And so many quotable lines.

Also fun to see that many of the guys from that era still active.

and sorry I do not know the song that you are looking for- although it does sound familiar... I am looking forward to hearing if we can find out what it is.

So I wasn't doing a drive by thread derail by posting some unrelated content. I have been thinking about this and @bass12 comments about contacting Dennis Dragon is a great idea. And the Billy Cobham comment too- very lively drums for sure. Also have been doing some google word combination searches to see if I come up with anything. Just for the fun of it. Nada so far-

I was eleven when I got a used copy of the Bones Brigade Video Show from a bike shop in Seattle. Future Primitive and The Search For Animal Chin followed and I quickly lost count of how many times I watched those three films. I remember that one of the cool things about Chin was that you actually heard the stars of the film talking.

In case you’re not already aware, a P&P soundtrack was released digitally a few years ago and can be found on the usual streaming sites.

That's good to know! I forgot I was gonna email PP (should've been done long ago :drool:) and see if anyone there would have some info or record of this promo - though I feel like they might not have anything either because this was just a promo and not a full length skate video
