Jazz Legends and famous Jazz Songs

Hi!
I'm searching for famous Jazz artists, and their most famous songs. I just want to have a short summary which persons where the most important ones in Jazz and which instruments they played.
For example Jaco, John Coltrane, Nat King Cole...
I Just need a few names and songs.

Important figures & what they played-
Louis Armstrong-trumpet
Charlie "Bird" Parker-alto sax
Dizzy Gillispie-trumpet
Duke Ellington-piano/composer/Big Band leader
Jimmy Blanton-bass
Charles Mingus-bass/composer
Charlie Christian-guitar
Kenny Clarke-drums
Max Roach-drums
Bud Powell-piano
Art Tatum-piano
Ray Brown-bass
Miles Davis-trumpet/band leader
Thelonius Monk-piano/composer

John Coltrane-tenor, soprano sax/composer
