Jazzmaster clone? Not exactly.

I got a free set of hardware from a broken SG and I'm thinking about doing something crazy. I want to use a set of gibson hardware on a Fender style body and neck. This includes the bridge, pickups, tuning keys, etc.

I'm planning on buying Link Removed and building the body out of my own design. I'll probably cut my own pickguard or maybe I'll use a fender one if my design is close enough.

Can anyone forsee problems with this idea? I can only think of a problem with the action being different, possibly, between a fender neck and a gibson bridge.

Oh, and sorry for thinking about bringing another geetard into this world.

How are you going to install tuners that are geared for 3 on each side onto a headstock that's routed for all 6 on one side?

I'm not sure about guitars... Aren't most tuners reversible? Well, if not I'm not averse to buying another set.

If I use standard stratocaster scale, is the top part of the bridge just at the bottom of that length, and then what distance from there should the second part of the bridge be?

I'm also worried about the height difference between the bridge and the neck. Are Gibson Bridges quite a bit higher than fender style mounted bridges? I guess I could set the bridge in a bit, or possible raise the neck up with spacers or just route it a bit shallow.
