My band has been discussing whether to replace our aging p.a. speakers with these new neodymium speakers (JBL SRX712M). They're supposedly great and I have heard rave reviews. A friend of ours band bought 6 of them as monitors and mains and everyone who plays with his band are blown away. He also subs with us and uses one for his keyboard. They are also pretty expensive at $1K each.
Since these speakers are light, wedge shaped and can be pole mounted I thought maybe they would be a good combination with a AI Focus Series 3 head for URB. Often times I wished I could have a pole mounted speaker to have right near my ear as opposed to speaker on the floor.
Anyone out there with experience with these speakers? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Here's some links:
