Jean Baudin's Pacman Bass

I believe the specs are:
9 Strings (DUH!! to me)
Ziricote top/Walnut or Mahogany body
35-32" Scale Ebony fretboard
7-Piece Maple/Purpleheart neck
Bartolini Pickups
Bart or ??? preamp
Custom Bridge or ABM Individual Bridges
Yellowheart Pacman at the 12th fret, Purpleheart ghost at 1st fret
I believe it has several wooden tuning pegs from THG in the shape of creatures of the Pacman enemies.

Hope this helps.

That looks pretty good, thank you! I'll tell you what it is with whatever feedback I get. :hyper:

See, I'm always right. Even when I'm wrong! :D

Speaking of which, It's been a while since there was any news on the fate of the three letter holding company with the four letter music conglomerate with the five letter amp company and the six letter mixer company.

:ninja:

My head hurt after the four-letter thingy... :(

We have so derailed.
This has to be like a TB record or something.

See, that's what happens when you bring up the five letter amp company ;)

...But 3 pages isn't even close to being a TB record, I wouldn't think.

Seriously, this thread seems to have served it's purpose, since specs of the bass have been posted. I'd love to see some more pics of it though! That bass is always a blast to behold.

I don't think they are ABM bridges... the other guys (I don't remember the name).
custom pac tuning pegs and knobs by thgknobs.com

it's a bart pre with special pickups made by bill bartolini.
They split in the middle and each pickup has a 3 position switch
up - bass only (lower 4 strings)
mid - all strings
down - treble only (high 5-strings)

then the 2 outputs have a 3 pos. switch.
up - both pickups to top output
mid - neck pickup to top output, bridge pickup to lower output
down - both pickups to lower output.

so if I had 2 amps I could send just the bass strings (or all strings to a bass amp) and I could send just the high strings (or all strings) to a guitar amp.... or any number of combos.

Too bad I rarely used 2 amps at the time. haha.

the knobs are
pac - master volume
blinky - neck volume
pinky - bridge volume
clyde - top = tone blinky, bottom = tone pinky

Also the design for the tuning pegs was made that no matter which side was facing up you Pac gets chased on the low strings and the ghosts are being chased for the high strings.

Hope that helps you out Cyber Soda.

Yeah, I'm a gamer. Working on my Platinum for Street Fighter IV, but I'm getting sidetracked with Fallout 3 and Resident Evil 5.

As for that pic, David Grossman took that before a Nuclear Rabbit show a long time ago. The venue didn't have a proper backstage to show him the bass.

One of these days I need to take a nice pic with all the tuners on there.
