This is a tribute to two of my favorite bass players Jerry Peek and Dave LaRue, both from the Steve Morse Band. They played great slap lines on country rock inspired tracks. If you want a free transcription/TAB of this just send me a message.

I am curious how much love there is here for these players; what are your favorite Jerry Peek and Dave LaRue bass lines? Maybe you can post them here with a video link.

I've been a Dregs fan since the very early 80s, so when Steve Morse went solo I was all about it. Bought The Introduction when it came out and saw the tour. I still give the disc regular play and count Jerry Peek as a serious influence. Even bought a Guild Pilot in the mid 80s!

For some reason I haven't really followed SM since, something I need to remedy!

ok cool! Yes, The Introduction is my absolute favorite Steve Morse album. As a young guy when I was 18 and playing bass for only 4 months or so, (played guitar before that) we started playing Cruise Missile with my first band, an instrumental rock trio. That was no easy task when you are playing that short! but we somehow succeeded. We also did some Steve vai and Al DiMeola and Stuart Hamm pieces and our own originals.

That yellow Guild Pilot looks amazing! Jerry Peek was also a big influence on my playing, especially in my early years. He was a very talented player. Strange that players with less talent and chops make into fame and others don't!

Yes, I know he is around here. Hope he joint in this topic, that would be great!
