If you want to display more rhythmic information, try the program Powertab, which is free. You can write in tab, and give it basically all types of note lenghts and types and accents and everything, with standard notation as well. And it actually plays the music too, so you can hear if it sounds right.

Can be really difficult to get note lengths and rests and stuff right though. Tabbing little grooves and stuff can often take forever...
