Jimmie Lee Sloas

Jimmie's credits are growing big time nowadays. He's playing on a high number of the bro country stuff.

For reference sake, those pickups that Jimmie uses on his jazzes are Vintage Seymour Duncan Proactive pickups.

Didn't Jimmy Sloas play on Megadeth's The System has Failed?

There was some ok bass on that album, but it's just odd that a country bassist would be playing with Megadeth. I mean, I know that Megadeth has had a slew of jazz players, but country is not a genre I think of first when I think of chops. Bluegrass, sure, but not country.

Oh well, decent album. Good bass playing.

Bloomington, IN is not that far from Nashville. When times get better, spend a weekend and check out the music scene. There are true bass monsters in Nashville, not the least of whom is Victor Wooten.

For the JLS fans, the famous Jerry Jones Jazz seems to have been through a few pickup swaps over the years:

1.14 and 2.52

I never get tired of this insanely 80s tone he gets, and his playing and style is incredible. A big influence as a kid learning bass back in the day.
Afaik, the Jerry Jones is now gold sparkle with the P swapped back to a traditional J at the front (and pickguard added). Duncan’s with mini switches.
