Joe Barden pup's

Has anyone here posted any clips of the new Joe Barden P's or J's ? How about a P-J arrangement ? I've searched youtube and the web looking for a clip or two so I can hear what they bring to the table but found a guy using a Fender performer J bass but he wasn't soloing the pickups, just jamming. I'd like to hear how they sound when soloed bridge and neck, how they sound passive, how they sound active. I'm deciding between JB's or Bill lawrence's. My Barts aren't giving me what I want anymore.

thanks for posting that. It was the first sound posting for JB's that I've heard. I'll run over to the Rocket forum and see what preamp was used too. Sounds like lots of output from those J's.

I just installed some J's in my J yesterday. Show tonight.
home rehearsal reaction was: "HOLY MOTHA'"!
Lookin' forward to tonight. So far I like them a lot! I will concur what Rocket man says, it is just more of everything.

The songs Self-Inflicted, Vicious Circle, Has Forever Died, and Forsaken were all recorded with that bass. Signal chain was Thumb NT (Audere preamp) --> Mesa Fathom/M9 --> Genz Benz Uber 410.

I had a very bad experience with Bardens a few years back. Bought some strat pickups from him and one of them did not have any protective wrap around the windings which of course caused the wire to come undone. He simply refused to stand behind his product and would not replace it. This was back in the 90's before he went out of business the first time. I don't know if things have changed, but I'll never touch one again.

I have 2 basses with the old 90's Bardens in it..this one came that way from the factory.

never had a "no-wrap-around-the-coils" issue like you did mmbongo.
