If anyone can tell me what they can see on this guys pedal board (besides the line 6 dm4) I'll be very happy. I NEED this sound or my entire life will have been a failure. .You can catch a glimpse at around 3 minutes in.

just to add. i have deep impact and digitech synth wah already. sold my korg g5 and have tried the ehx and wasn't impressed - none of the come close to the tone he has.

If that is the video, as you can see, the bass player is somehow manipulating a filter with a pedal. I think I could make this sound with the Pigtronix Disnortion (Fuzz setting) into the Pigtronix EP-1. I run the clean trigger signal through a volume pedal in order to control how/when the filter opens by use of a pedal.

Cool sound. I think an octave down is used too, as Spanky said. Perhaps a clean octave down blended with the fuzz and foot-controlled filter? Compression before all of it?

Thanks for the list Spanky. Like I said though, the deep impact, Korg G5 or digitech synth wah don't even come in synth terms. The only one of the above I'm not familiar with is the roland GR20. I'll have a look.
I'm more incline to go with your jerry rig. was wondering if a boss oc2 into a dod fx25 might get me close.

So there's your exp. pedal shenanigans potentially solved. The moogerfooger LPF is not far from what I suggested.
