John Rambo

The John Rambo trailer I saw was easily the most violent movie trailer I've ever seen. Are they actually showing that during coming attractions at the movie theater?
Possibly, but not necessarily. One of the trends in movie marketing is to release a trailer (usually just on the Internet) that doesn't follow the traditional rules. They're called "red band" trailers because they often begin with a red screen containing the message that the trailer is for restricted audiences only. (Other trailers begin with a green screen saying that it's approved for all audiences).

"Superbad" generated a lot of its advance hype via its red band trailer.

That's interesting. Thanks for clearing things up a bit.
