John Taylor from Duran Duran fame

LOL John underated, to me an underated player is one so dam good at his job he, he blends in and holds so much, you never really notice them till they stop playing, then you think.."somethings changed here, what is it" that's John.
John brought the image of the super cool, laid back bass player to his playing and that maybe over shadowed his ability.
I've meet him a few times, first one was back in the early 80s and he has that ability to stop a room when he comes in to it, nice guy and all the girls i ever talked to said he had it, that thing about him that was just there. LOL they could never put it in words, but his bass playing was not on their minds.
Top man and i agree underated, especially if you were part of the music scene he came into, by far one of the best.

I really like John Taylor style of playing. Every time i have a gig, no matters which kind of music : Jazz, Folk, Blues, i use a lot of patterns from JT Duran Duran songs. They sound amazing, i destroy other players band kidney`s with the groove from Duran Duran songs. They are so so so simple but they are very very very very very nice to hear and fun to play. JT is not the best technician, but his bass lines... I can`t describe it...
Back in 1985, JT had one of the very best mullets in all of Live Aid. There were many mullets to be seen, his was right up there in the top three.
