Yep, Dingwall.

For an appearance with that degree of visibility, John Taylor would have made an agreement to play a certain bass. Probably.

That is a definite possibility.

Wow- John has gone Dingwall- pretty much thought he was club Peavey for life.

Can't assume that the bass used in the video or even at the show is the same one used in the studio. It may not be the bassist's favorite, and certainly will not be his one-and-only brand/model.

Endorsement deals happen. I'd never say that an artist would play an instrument he did not like just for a paycheck, but the fact is that most are gear agnostic. The magic comes from the player, not the instrument. McCartney sounded as brilliant on his Ric as he did on his Hofner, and those are very different animals (so to speak).

My first concert, in 1984. Seven and the Ragged Tiger Tour. Good show as I recall. These guys have done a good job sticking around.

Sadly, I have a story where a friend of ours who idolized Simon LeBon her entire life won a radio contest and got to meet him. He was a complete jackass, was late to the meeting, very dismissive of her, came right out and said that he just had a couple minutes as he had better things to do. In those words.

I do not envy the burden that famous people carry and frankly I don't think I would handle that burden very well if I had to bear it. It's a responsibility though, and the experience with LeBon was devastating to our friend.
