I’m very on the fence about this one, as it is one of the coolest and definitely rarest pedals I have and I’m not likely to ever have the chance to own another. Recently I’ve been playing a lot cleaner, and while the clean tones of this pedal are fantastic (and a fully parametric midrange is some tone magic dust!), the grit was the reason I jumped on one of these as soon as I could and I’m just not making the most of it at the moment (and could use some $$ for a move in a couple weeks). May well change my mind tomorrow!
TB’er JohnK, master of bass overdrives, built just a few of these direct copies of the preamp section of the Peavey Centurion by request made in this thread in the search for that elusive early Faith No More bass tone: Someone should build a killer dirt pedal from this line of heads(Peavey MarkIII/MarkIV content)
Here is JohnK’s pedal page with supplemental details of the build: Centurion-Pedal--Peavey-preamp-in-a-box-
I would possibly flirt with some partial trades, like cool wave-folding fuzzes aka Prunes and Custard or Malekko Downer, or maybe an MBD-2 or newer 9V Rusty Box, or?
Looking for $375 shipped continental US or $360 local LA
