Joining third band

So your not in this for money or gigging? Are you looking to to become famous with your originals band?

Blue

In the cover band I would be in it for gigging, money and fun. A lot of the music they do isnt music I particularly like. (some songs are real cool though).
In the original band I am in it to pour my soul into the music and be creative. Yes I would love to gig every week with this band but the music is good enough that I will be happy with one a month if thats all I can get. Im not planing on being famous or making a living with music. I just want to play.

LOL. It never is. It sounds like you need to stick with originals bands.

I play covers because I can show up and play to a built-in audience and I get paid for it. I also don't really need to spend much time rehearsing. My style is my creative outlet, it's not necessarily the notes that I play.

I'm in multiple projects and the biggest thing I did was to get an online calendar. Save a lot of confusion. As soon as one band books a gig it goes on there and I'm locked up for that date. Also, saves people from having to call me before hand. I even put an outta town trip or a wedding on there so anyone booking knows I am not available. I use this:

I wish you luck, before I went completely "cover" I was in an originals band and the material rocked awesome. At the end of the day nobody wanted to hear it and gigs were so far and few in between the band broke up.

I contend that a band with no gigs to look forward to won't last long.
