Joyo Ultimate Drive on bass

I've been told the OCD is a great pedal on bass, and after looking up videos, I have to agree. The Ultimate Drive is a clone, with supposedly more bass retention, what are your thoughts on the Ultimate Drive? I'll probably get it anyway since its only $27, but I'd still like to hear your opinions

Wow I just combined the ultimate drive with my newly acquired boss line selector... The joyo sounds fantastic and after I a /b'ed it against many overdrive pedals I found a new place in my heart for this already coveted pedal. I mean this thing sounds freaking great..!!!!

I love the sound of the Joyo Ultimate Drive, but I find it does lose a lot of low-end. I think it's great as an always on overdrive, where you can compensate for the low-end loss with your amp's EQ. I find it's much tougher to use if you're switching back-and-fourth between a clean and dirty tone. I've gone back to the T-Rex Bass Juice for this reason. The clean blend is really helpful for maintaining a consistent presence in the mix while switching between clean and dirty tones.

I haven't had this experience at all. In fact, it's one of the most bass heavy pedals I've used in my experience. Even more so than some bass specific pedals I use. The Ultimate Drive certainly has less low cut than the OCD (the 1.4 version I have, at least). With most of my dirt pedals they're always on or at least not bypassed during a song, I may switch between songs. So there might be a small negligible loss of low end, but nothing dramatic or very noticeable. I don't know your signal chain or how you're using it though, so I'm not saying you haven't experienced it. One of my most used overdrive pedals for years was a vintage DOD 250 and it had a bit of low end loss but much less than a lot of other pedals I tried to get the same tone and it has significantly more low end loss than the Ultimate Drive and I've compared them directly.

Interesting. The only work-around I've found for the low-end loss I've experienced is to set the UD so it is WAY louder when engaged. Otherwise, it disappears on me when I try to use it for a song here and there throughout the night on a gig. Perhaps this is normal when using dirt pedals with no clean blend?

Anyway, I do love the UD for always on OD.
