JPJ's Fender Bass V

was it tuned - E A D G C? I dont see any other option for a short scale and for that time period but who knows...

was it used on any of LedZep's recorded work?
 
The Fender Bass V was tuned EADGC. It only had 15 frets as it was designed so that you could play the same parts as a 4 string but not have to shift up the neck to play the higher notes. I am not aware of, and have never seen any record of, the bass being used on any studio recordings. JPJ likes having a high C string, as it allows him to play chords easier. He strings his 10 string basses (doubled course) EADGC for the same reason.
