JR White plays a Squier

I gig an amber VM P that I put a orig. '62 pup in and CTS pots, switchcraft jack and a more classic P cap. The bass sounds great and plays nicely to boot. I have gotten a few comments like "what are you doing playing a Squier" from another local player. Strange. Funny though that I got defensive about it and began to explain the upgrades I had done. Won't do that again if anybody says anything to me about it. Gigging it this weekend at a prominent blues venue here in atl.

I've had that same experience. I've played Jazz Basses for over 30 years and the CV I bought rivals any MIA Standard I've ever owned. These things are actually greater competition for those than the MIM models IMO. I'm not having one bit of reservation about using it on gigs or in the studio.

As popular as they've become I'm curious to see whether or not the pricing remains as low as it is.

Gasp! Don't you know, according to some, believing that you can prefer a Squier over an MIA Fender makes you a delusional Squier fanboy?
