Julia gets On The Floor!!!

She’s got some of the best timing I’ve heard. Forget the metronome. Just feel the groove.
hmmm, well, she is playing to the prerecorded MJ track, and John Robinson is definitely layin' it down here, so I'm not sure about the "forget the metronome" comment ;)

she definitely gets the Louis Johnson groove going though. Interesting to read that LJ has co-writing credit for this tune too.

Its always kind of interesting to me that while he was such a huge dance oriented artist, there are really not a ton of slap bass lines on some MJ hits while there are quite a few that are finger style.

So young and so talented!

Also, I am really impressed by the tone she gets out of a relatively inexpensive bass.
One more time the theory that only expensive bass sound good is debunked.
Not any inexpensive bass. There's a reason I have 4 Sterlings including one SUB in 5 like her's (flats), also a yellow/mahogany 5, a rosewood(or some other Asian dark wood) HH5 (nickel rounds) and a short scale 4 (steel rounds). I used the shortie for a modern dance accompaniment friday and the last 2 days I've been rediscovering the tones in the HH. The low B string on it is very strong too.
