JuliaPlaysGroove Don't Start Now patch on B3n

Here's the video

I'm trying to get a similar tone on my b3n. First off, my guitar is different, I'm using a Jazz copy with Chromes on it but I hope to be able to compensate for that in the EQ of the patch. I have guitar tone full, neck pick up backed off 10%. I'm finger picking over the bridge pickup.

The principal thing I want is the nice thick tone (growl?) on the staccato notes on the D string.

This seems to be in the 630(hz?) range. So what I have is tweaks to the "TE400 Set" patch, I'm probably 70% of the way there to my ear:

BlackOpt
=======
COmp 36
Lo 48
Hi 82
VOl 73

Splitter
====
Freq 630
Lo 66
Hi 38
Vol 64

TE400
Style Finger
Bass 0.5
Mid -4.5
Treb 8
Gain 61
Shape 1
Vol 38

TE4x10
Dyn20 61
Dyn 57 45
Bottom 46
Bal 100

Anyone else tried to get this tone on a B3 have a patch I can try?

Chris.

I suspect that everyone is sick of Zoom b3 patches :D

One brainwave I did have...I used the looper on my g3n and then I was able to zip through patch changes super quick using Guitar Lab onto my GCE-3 simulating the B3n.

I got closer by switching the cab to:

AGx10TW
Dyn20: 37, Dyn57: 68, Bottom: 62, Bal: 100.

I did have to drop the treble right down on the amp
Treble: 3.5

And take some of the low out of the splitter:
Lo: 50.

Complicated business this amp modelling!

And on the subject of technique. There's a fast run at 1:02. She plays
G 9 - 7 (middle index) D 9 - 7 (middle index)

Is that typical for fast finger technique? Strict alternation? I'm coming from the guitar and banjo world and want to make sure I start building on solid foundations instead of starting with bad habits.

There's a temptation to do a middle index index middle sweep thing as we're dropping down a string. But I don't know, feels a little counter intuitive cos I'm going from a higher fret 9 to lower 7 and using the higher (up the string) middle finger first feels more in step with what the left hand is doing.

A happy accident this morning, I had an empty patch selected by mistake when I started practicing this song (yes still practicing it after two months!) and I could hear the growl much better.

So I experimented with the patch and started by taking out the cab simulation and that's it. The cab seems to smooth out the higher strings a little too much so I dropped the balance value on that down to 25 and it's much closer.
