What is a pedal dist pedal to have and why?

Pro's and con's - should one or both be avoided completely???

Hi,

I have the Guv'Nor and the Guv'Nor 2.
The "1" is much much much better sounding.
The GV2 is really not meant for bass. If you have a blend, it might work well but alone is difficult to keep the sound bassy.

Chase one on ebay, they are worth the extra cash I think.

I tried out the Hot Head a while back. I went with a Bad Monkey instead. It will definitely do crunchy, and it has plenty of gain on tap.

Yeah i was thinking of the bad monkey, but was under the impression it might not have enough gain and the effect getting lost in the mix (I tried the CM-2 and found that)

Although i may try it to see the tone difference.

No, it's got lots of gain for something categorized as an overdrive, and since it is fairly mid-oriented, it cuts through the mix quite well. It retains the low end nicely, and the "low" EQ adds a nice low-midrange fatness.

Yeah, i like the sound of it. Is the hot head got the same eq? How does it sound turned down to the drive as the monkey?
