Just bought a fridge

My back is already hating me for this but I had to have it. I just bought a mint condition Ampeg SVT 810av off of Craigslist. The guy lived 2 towns over from me so I didn't have to travel far to get it. And the best thing about it is I got it for $500.00. Man these cabs sound awesome!
Too bad they are so big and heavy. Wait until my loud ass cover band guitarists see and hear this. Their Marshalls are going to get a workout keeping up with me. Fortunately I have a truck and SUV to haul it.

This thing is a power hog. I put my Hartke HL1000 through it with it bridged into a 4 ohm load pumping 1,000 watts and the cab didn't even grunt! I could not believe how loud the thing was.

I am thinking about buying a Ampeg head. Any suggestions that will go with this beast.

I'll post the obvious SVT-CL or SVT (vintage) 300 watt all tube Ampeg. Also could use an SVT-II, SVT-2PRO (also 300 watt all tube Ampegs). I run my 810E with an SVT-3PRO with good results.

I run mine with the SVT-CL. Yes, your guitarists world is going to change. It weighs a lot, but every time I walk away from it I have no GAS.

If you want the best tube tone, go with the SVT-VR or SVT-II pro. They are great!

If you've never heard a Gallien Krueger amp paired with an Ampeg fridge, I strongly suggest you check one out with your cab before making a decision. Seriously.

GK heads seem to be popular with the 8x10's. I would still look for an older SVT though. Maybe you'll get lucky and find something else good on craigslist. Everything in my area is junk.

Dont forgot the slide rails. It only takes me to get my cab in and out of my truck, or the trailer. The rails are god sent.
