Try a fusion bag. Storage for days, and several options of fuse-on bags. I trust mine with my Fodera
I use the old and new Fusion single and double. They are really good. It is lighter than the Mono, just as well padded without the hard shell sides. Personally for every day bus, metro, train, walking, Fusion is the best answer. Especially since their Fuse On attaches to 3 parts of the gig bag, making it more versatile.
Now flying , especially in case they make you check it, the Reunion Conti and Mono are better .
Anyway after buying Fusion cases I believe they are a better alternative. The only thing I don't like is their handle. It is too squishy. The case moves around too much in my hands and it robs you of too much forearm strength since it is squishing around in the hands. But this is a minor gripe since most of us are carrying it on our backs bulk of the time.
I figure it goes something like this. Fusion, Mono/Reunion , then Sadowsky. Fusion lightest. Mono Reunion middle weight. Sadowsky heaviest. All of them have enough padding.
By far Sadowsky is the sturdiest but it is hell heavy. That is not a gig bag. That is in the realm of the hardcase. But I use that in case I have to fly with a guitar lately. It truly is a tank. If flying is in the menu, then Mono Reunion is the best of all worlds. If you fly a lot. Sadowsky is the best bet.
Dang.... I have too many gig bags.
