Just bought my very first amp - and it doesn't work!

Okay, so I bought my very first amp yesterday used off someone on Craiglist. It's a Squier BP-15. It worked perfectly while I was trying it out, worked for a while at home. Then, while I was fiddling around with it, I moved it closer to me and accidentally pulled the plug out of the wall. I plugged it back in, went to answer my phone, and when I came back, it didn't work. It still turns on, but doesn't do anything for my bass. All I hear is a pshhhhh sound that's there whether I have anything plugged in or not. :help::bawl:

First, check the fuse/circuit breaker. Probably on the back.

Second, it might be the instrument cable. Beg/buy/borrow a different cable to check.

Third, if all else fails, have a pro tech check it out. Especially if you tell them it's your first amp and it only worked for a few minutes, they may have pity on you and help you out on the cheap.
