This weekend the band has a casino gig. It's a fun time to get away for the weekend, make some good music and some fun after show parties in the rooms. This time, we're down our keyboard player so it's just a three piece (drums, guitar/bass)
We use are smaller indoor setup because we play in the casino and they don't like us too loud. (Think musical wallpaper)

Anyway, guitar is ampless, uses a multi effect board and IEM.
I'm not setting up my rig, just using my wireless, BDDI and tuner direct to the board. Going to use my powered monitor for vocals, guitar and bass. I've done this in the past when the band does a 3-piece.

I'm liking the idea of a 10 minute setup!

I hope you'll indulge a few questions:

1. Do you carry your own monitor mixer to assure everyone in the band has an IEM mix they're happy with, or do you rely on the venue come up with a IEM mix for each musician at the gig?

2. Does everyone in your band use and control their own IEM signals, or do you rack all of the IEM transmitters and controllers where they can controlled in monitor world or by FOH?

Good questions. Here are my answers.


Yes, we carry our own monitor mixer through 4 AUX channels on our mixer so everyone gets a custom mix.

I don't use IEM only the guitarist. I use a powered monitor that is fed from my AUX out.
