Wondering if any of you has experience with the Roland BR-1600CD. I just won best overall student prize at my music school (*yay!*) and have been given a complete studio setup with the BR-1600CD, studio monitors and microphones.
The thing is, I already have a Cubase SL / Tascam setup at home that I am fairly happy with. If I sell off the Roland, I could purchase extra drum samples, orchestra synths etc... but on the other hand the Roland has some very cool features that could be handy for songwriting, like drum programming, vocal effects, mastering etc. Plus it's portable in case I ever want to record a band.
Should I keep it / add it on to my current setup / sell it and buy more stuff? Alternatively, the school principal says he could talk to Roland and see whether they could give me something of equivalent value.
