Band I played with four years ago got a wedding gig in July and the bassist has a problem..hahaha, anyway got the call. Odd set of tunes to learn tho

Buddy Holly, ELO, Fontella bass, Cockney Rebel, George Ezra? Buggles, Stray Cats, The Killers....Hollies, Santana etc etc

Kinda makes you wonder what the BL's thinking is who incidentally is a church organist, a grt guy and a stella player...still, a funny old collection huh?

Set list ALWAYS subject to change IF alcohol is served. Bride ALWAYS thinks up a song (not on the list) after dancing for a few. Learn the songs solid but keep your recreational playing (when you learn songs you like to play) up to date. Even better when your rec playing includes 60's, 70's pop & R & B.

Yeah, The Hollies did a lot of stuff, but "Long Cool Woman" is my favorite by them. Fun to play, too!

I'm guessing the Fontella Bass song is "Rescue Me", and the Stray Cats is either "Rock This Town" or "Stray Cat Strut". Love playing both, and "Rescue Me" has a great bass line as well.

Since it's a wedding, I'm guessing the Santana choice(s) are NOT "Evil Ways" of "Black Magic Woman"??! :D

The only one I can think of is Long Cool Woman. I’m sure there’s more but I can’t recall
As far as their hits go, that’s got to be one of the weaker ones. From their post-Graham downward slide, as a band that once had a vibrant and highly original sound it was a desparate ploy copping the CCR-isms. Especially since Fogarty and company had just thrown in the towel.
