Just ordered a taser.

Prince Edward Island is Canada's smallest province, next door to new brunswick. Here, if you get in a fight, you're in a fight, cops will wait until it's over and tell you to go home. Also, anyone who says "just walk away" has never been in a real fight haha. It doesn't work that way around here. Streetfighting is so common, because rarely do knives or guns get pulled in our town, a good fistfight is a good fistfight. But it also gives groups of guys the guff to gang up on anyone.

Easy way out is to boogie out as fast as you can.

Where is the PEI, for this ignorant 'murican?

I wish that was an option for me. The reason it's called the fight or flight response is that your body tries to prepare you for one or the other. I'm too heavy to run fast, so I just have to stand and slug.

Fortunately I don't have to do that anymore. But in my younger days it happened more than I care to think.

FWIW, a guy just got killed here by one of those things a few weeks back, it was cops using the device on a loudmouthed but harmless drunk.

Pepper spray is better, you're almost sure to get the attacker off of you, and the chance of finding yourself on the wrong side of a manslaughter charges are infinitely small.

Actually pepper spray has been linked to a number of deaths as well. Of course, similar to most if not all Taser related deaths, the mechanism through which it killed the people was not well identified and AFAIK, it was listed as a secondary cause of death. As far as I've seen the chances of being charged with manslaughter in either instance is very small when you look at the number of times these devices are employed compared with the number of related fatalities (whether they were caused by the device or not).
