It's a Squier Vintaged Modified...it's their "good" line of basses.

Congrats...throw a tort pickguard and some pickup covers and it'll look real cool.

This past week I jammed using my Vintage Mod. P w/a guitarist who had a 76' - P sitting in the corner. Of course, I had to play it and found out.....(drumroll please) that my P was more comfortable (for me), much lighter, and spoke better in the mix.
Am I so delusional that I think this is the best P of all time? No, but it's a whole lot better than I expected for $249.00.
In fact (IMHO) any bassist (who uses a P) could record or play live with this bass and no one would ever think it was a budget instrument.

I just played it through my rig and this bass is good for everything (yes, even slapping). I really dont see a need to upgrade anything except maybe the tuners but you never know and of course i changed the strings but that is all. Plus, its gorgeous!

the strings were $27.50 at a local music store. and yes buy this bass if you want a great backup bass!

I just picked up the Squier VM Precision today and I did what a fellow TB'er did with his Squier VM Jazz....I replaced the pickguard screws with black screws.

It now has a very smooth look!
