I could no longer resist the temptation of the Warmoth 20% off. I finally (after months of back and forth) ordered a 6 string Flame Maple Gecko neck. When it arrives I will upload some pics, and the ensuing build. I will be making the body my self. I'm not exactly sure what wood to use. I'll probably use padauk or walnut. I'll keep you posted! I am very excited right now. Any thoughts on what bridge to use? I have used the Hipshot bridges before and liked them, but as always I am open to suggestions.

I just checked the site, and it says that only showcase parts are 20% off, so I'm afraid you didn't get a discount.:hmm: But at least you ordered a nice neck.:bassist:

I did get the neck from the Showcase. That is why I bought it. So I could get the discount. This neck would have cost alot more than it did if it weren't. Flame maple isn't even an option in the neck builder. Someone must have custom ordered it, and for some reason backed out.

Oh, FWIW the cost for warmoth to "remove" the Gecko inlay is $35. This is if you custom order the neck. They do not upcharge for necks in the showcase that do not have it.

Oh my lord...you got a hell of a deal then! I always wished I could find a non-gecko inlay neck in the showcase, because those things are quite ugly in my opinion.:spit:

Agreed, that's a great deal that you got on a sweet-looking neck.

Personally, I love the Gecko inlay. I've purchased 7 Gecko necks so far, plus another that I recently sold, and the inlay looks very nice to me. I think I know why Warmoth has an upcharge to build a new Gecko neck without the inlay, but it's all speculation on my part. :)

tubby - I do not mind the Gecko on a dark colored fretboard. But not on a maple one. I hope that I like the fretboard! I have never played a 6 string warmoth before, but I just could not resist this one.

Wait until I get the fretboard here, and mock up the plans for it. It will be amazing looking when I am done.
