Just purchased a Warwick from RocketMusic

Just wanted to take a second out to plug Greg and RocketMusic.

I just completed a purchase on a Warwick $$ 'vette from RocketMusic. Greg worked with me and made the sales process a smooth one... and at a price I could handle. I'm so accustomed to working with irritating "customer service"/sales reps in NYC, this was a breath of fresh air.

I gotta say, if you're looking for a bass that RocketMusic carries, PM Greg!

I did exactly the same thing. Ordered the same bass from the same company Greg is a nice man and his prices can't be beat. My bass should be here May 20th, as it had to be ordered from Germany. It's an Emerald Green $$ 5-string bolt-on. I can't wait.

I had my Warwick thumping last night. We were in a pretty boomy club in Roanoke, but my Thumb was cutting through like a champ. I love it!

Thumb NT may wind up being my next bass purchase. Got the chance to try one of those bad boys the other day... growls like nothing else.

I actually ran into one for under 2K at a GC and almost fell over... until I picked it up and found its warped neck and frets you could open a can of beans with. Looks like it was stored under water...

My $$ feels way better than any of the floor models I've tried at the local big box. It's a testament to proper storage... just one more reason to go mom & pop.

Dys - PM sent about some Thumb pricing!

Yeah, we actually open up every box, we setup the instruments, try the amps, etc. I can't stand walking into a store and having to request that they set a bass up so I can evaluate it properly. If you're trying to sell an instrument, ESPECIALLY one north of $2K, the least you can do is make it play as good as it should.

I had to bring my own tools when I was shopping for a Zon b/c GC refused to set it up for me!

Greg's a bad man. I take back the nice things I said. He's making me consider selling organs for more Warwicks.

I'd consider going to VA to give you a piece of my mind, but I'd probably just wind up with more basses!

Wow... wow.... WOW!!! I guess it's been too long since I set foot in a GC. That's unacceptable on soooo many levels, pretty much the polar opposite of customer service...

FWIW, I had a very competant salesperson at GC set up a beas for me and I didn't purchase it. No pressure. No attitude. He said he didn't mind setting it up for me, and realized that no one was really going to buy that particular bass unless it had a decent setup. I certainly will work with this guy again. It's the salesperson we get - not the store, IMO.

On the other had, I've my share of duds, in both large chain stores and mom-and-pop shops.
