Double Bass Just thought I'd share

Ahh, just some crank yankin'.... PIGSONTHEWING and I have an understanding :smug:

I really wanna know how you arrive at this "understanding"? If I "crank yank" somebody here, I get what I call PM Overload. That's when my Pm's fill up with a buncha' nasty messages threatening to give me, my loved ones and my bass (even) bad injuries. :crying:
How do you pull this **** off? Inquiring minds and all that.....

But-just for future reference- on DBs, with our strings made of intestines and our bows fitted with horse hair, it's less about the "headstock", and more about the "livestock"....

You could say that ;)
And yeah, I was just trying to say I thought the DB looked nice, sorry about my lack of proper vocabulary :smug:

Wow, it's amazing to think that this was your aunt's bass for 50 years, yet before that it was someone else's bass for a few decades, and before that someone else's, and before that...

In some past century a player plays his 3 string with gusto. A few decades later a new player and his luthier realize it's time to change his lovely 3-string into a new fangled modern 4 string like all the other young'uns.

Maybe someone was playing this bass checking out this new piece of music, hot off the presses, "Symphonie Fantastique" by Berlioz, figuring out how to play the cool bass parts.

It's like "The Red Violin" !
