Just kidding, I'm pretty sure any musician who has ever listened to someone else's music has been in the same boat as us. Yeah, I'm still lusting after a Green Matamp. :(
 
It will be different depending on your bass.

I take it you don't have a wal, so while you can eq the grit the same, it will not sound the same because honestly, nothing sounds like a wal. His grit is gritty, yes, but not full blown grit, it still retains quite a bit of the basses tonality as the drive level isn't that high. I used have a turbo rat...
