JustStrings Bulk Nickel Round Wound Bass Strings Flexibility?

Based on price, JustStrings bulk nickel round wound bass strings are definitely a good deal - your get, e.g., six 4-string sets of 40-95 for roughly $10.50 per set.

For those of you who have used these, how would you describe their relative flexibility or tension?

For that kind of price, why don't you try them and find out for yourself? Stiffness/flexibility is such a personal and subjective part of any string.

To buy a single set of 4 individuals would cost me about $20 (the savings comes in when you buy packs of 6 strings per single gauge).

I'm all about low flexibility, have read a LOT of threads on the subject, and have found that, given a sufficiently large enough sample size, you can reach a reasonable conclusion about a string's flexibility. I've found this to be true for all of the strings I currently use. So, the right word(s) in my ear might persuade me to or dissuade me from taking the leap.

I can only guess their NPS rounds would be similar to D'Addario XL Nickels and Ernie Ball Slinkys in terms of overall playing feel.

I misspoke. I should have said high flexibility. Damn scotch!

Yeah, I meant to do an update after receiving an email response. They ARE hex core, and the one brand the guy did mention, without coming out and saying that is the manufacturer they contract with, is D'Addario.

I think the fact that they're hex core kinda blows it for me (not sure what size the core actually is), unless somebody can convince me that they are relatively flexibile.

I'm still searching for the holy Grail of strings. Current usage on my 9 basses is:

flats: TI Jazz Flats
rounds: TI Jazz Rounds, GHS Round Core Boomers, DR Pure Blues, DR Sunbeams

40-95 I believe, except for the Pure Blues, which I believe are the Victor Wooten set, 40-90.

I've tried a Pure Blues custom set, 30-85 I believe, but they're almost too light.

I have a feeling the Just Strings 40-95 would be stiffer in feel than any of those three.

By the way, the PB VW set is 40-55-75-95 (55D instead of 60D), the same as the RC Boomers.

I have used the JS bulk strings, they remind me of GHS basics, a little rougher than most nickle, bright tone, and decent life. I didn't mind them, but not fooling myself.
