How's the inharmonicity of that low E? How far up can you use it?Just under 40", 39.55", if I recall correctly. Tuning it EADGC, starting at E0, one full octave below a normal 4 string bass. The low E is .170 in this set. Shakes the very ground!

I won't be able to string it up for a while yet, but I remember being quite impressed by the low E fretted all the way to the 12th and beyond. It's really nice getting true "mwah" on such low notes! The "bloom" is surreal an octave lower! How's the inharmonicity of that low E? How far up can you use it?
I heard back - they've been having tech problems, new website function broke a bunch of things - sounds like they're a "DIY" low-overhead operation when it comes to their tech - anyway glitches are fixed, should be a new gauge calculator on the site, and he says they're working hard to catch up again. Best I can say is hang in there...
That, I don't know... I thought he had some help, but no clue, really...Who is "they"? Is Kalium really more than just Skip?
Fingers crossed it's smooth sailing from here...I sent an email to Kalium asking about the status of my order.
They said that I had ordered the 39-40 scale strings and were waiting confirmation of the order from me and measurements.
Well,I had ordered the wrong scale, but I sent them all the needed scale measurements.
Awwww... sad...sad to hear the news that malcolm newton has passed away :-/

Please post when you get them.I have just ordered a second set of Kalium Steel Bass Long .118" Balanced Six String Set for my fretless.
