I love all those old Kazumi Watanabe records, I spin them regularly. That line up did 2 records titles Spice of Life and Spice of Life Too plus the live DVD. Berlin and Bruford make for an oddly dynamic and grooving rhythm section as one would expect and as always Jeff pulls of some staggering solos along with impeccable ensemble lines.

I remember when this album came out and it had two of my favorite bassist on it, especially at that time , Marcus & Robbie Shakespeare.

I listened to the crap out of the first Spice Of Life album, and I bought the Spice Of Life Too just because it seemed like a good idea to have it in my collection, but I don't think I've ever listened to it...because I got so sick of the sound of that Simmons electric drumkit that I can barely stomach any of these recordings!

Incredible playing by Kazumi and Jeff...although most of Jeff's contributions are buried under the abysmal drum sound, and most of Kazumi's playing has a halo of timbral cheese obfuscating his incredible chops.

There are so many albums from the 80's that I can't listen to because of the drum sound or programming.
