I run my own cab, the acoustics of the room, my bass and amp does not need to be run through the PA system. Now that makes me wonder why the old sound man, thinks I needed a compressor.

Maybe to even out your sound.

I'm really curious about this compressor and have been doing a bit of research. Compressors/Limitors are a pretty new concept to me, but now that I'm aware of how they work and what they do, and now that I've taken time to play around with the settings of a compressor effect in my Zoom MS-60B, I really see how compressors can make a HUGE difference for live/recorded sound (for me, anyway). It's unfortunate compressors are so specific and can't really be "heard" well in audio examples, not to mention, there are quite a few to choose from that all do their job a little differently. But the Keeley name seems to be a good representative of quality at a decent price, and the controls look to be simple enough for me to handle. Might have to bite the bullet and just try one.

To the OP: Hope you're able to find out how best to use it for your setup. Or better yet, another pedal that serves ya even better.
