I’m thinking this might make an amazing boost/tone warmer/slight grit in front of an amp. I’m curious if anyone has ever tried it? In my love of all things germanium, I’m thinking I might give it a shot. The only thing I worry about using guitar effects for bass, is that there’s going to be a corner frequency in there that doesn’t reach down to those lower notes.

I've had the Oxblood (brown pedal) and Oxblood Germanium (blue pedal) for a while for electric guitar use. I was wondering the same thing as you so I just ran my 6 string bass through the GE pedal and I must say it sounds amazing. I couldn't detect any low frequency loss, even playing a low B! This pedal, like a cupcake, can get LOUD and thick underneath with a compressed fuzzy sparkle on top so watch out! Great for slap or fingerstyle in my opinion. Just make sure the PHAT and CLIP switches are switched to the right and you'll have all your frequencies covered. Switching either one to the left will highpass your sound and thin it out majorly.
