Double Bass keeping a bridge wing pickup (Bassmax) in place

After sanding my bridge a little and making a shim, I can fiddle around with my Bassmax and get it into a sweet spot that sounds very nice with my setup. The problem is how do I keep it there. It seems to work best with fairly moderate pressure on the pickup, enough to get rid of the vibrating flappy sound you get if it is too loose but not enough that I could be assured that I will not easily knock it out of position when handling the bass or taking it in or out of a bag. Is there some good way for me to keep the pickup in place without messing up the sound or am I doomed to fiddling with it every time I go to set up to play? Maybe some type of glue that would hold well, not effect the sound and be removable in the future?

Sounds like you took too much off of your bridge; it should definitely fit snugly. Swipe a sax reed from somewhere and use it as a shim to get the fit right.

Not really the situation. The space in the bridge was much too big for the Bassmax before I started. I sanded an area flat because both surfaces where the pickup would sit were oddly shaped and not good for holding anything in a stable manner. I sanded one curved side flat so everything would not rock back and forth knowing that I was going to have to use a shim from the beginning. I figured the extra 1/32 to 1/16" inch space would not matter since the space was at least that much too wide to start with.

Any ideas?
