Kemper Profiler thoughts..

Hi Justin

I wondered what you thought of the Kemper Profiler?

What kind of scenarios do you use it in?

I'm primarily a bass player and don't own a guitar amp, but I'm contemplating a Kemper for recording guitar and wondered what you thought of it for guitar and bass.

It's pretty handy. I demo on it as I write with artists because it's so fast. But then I find I keep some of the demo tracks because the tones are solid. I have it dedicated to a "guitar zone" in my studio, so I very rarely use it on bass. But with the stuff I've seen in there and things I've modeled, it's solid. Anything goes, man. I'm pretty agnostic when it comes to using tools like this vs. trad equipment.

And there's something to be said for the juxtaposition of stuff recorded with tasty analog gear, combined with in-the-box sounds to add a little digital...sheen (for lack of a better term).

I guess. Anything I do in-the-box I always fux with anyway so it sounds aged, harsh, crusty, darkened whatever.
