I have a really stupid question...
..isn't the Vader a headless bass? String length does not matter as long as they are long enough to reach past the headpiece.
As far as double ball end strings go...you can't use them anyway.
Yes you can use any strings you want on it. They use long scale Dunlop Super Brights from the factory.
The only reason for different scale length strings is so the string taper matches the scale length of your bass. With a headless bass, you're cutting off the entire end of the string anyway. There are no tuners, so you don't need any string taper.
And if you have not changed strings on your Vader before, you're in for a treat

Not to derail, but does this type of Kiesel bridge accept guitar strings with their smaller guitar ball ends?

Good question! I'm trying to find a good picture of the claw that holds the ball end but I think it would fit if I remember right. I wonder if it would be able to tune correctly though?
I wonder the same thing. A photo, or better yet an HD video, showing if this is even possible would be great.
It wasn't anything major, there's just a little trick...or more like a fine line...in cutting the strings to where you cut off enough to where they don't stick out the end while leaving enough to make sure you have a good clamp where the string won't unwind!

interesting I use a 130 on my Osiris and have used up to a 135. According to my calipers, a 142 should fit, but I have not actually tried it.
I have one of these coming, six string in the 30 scale so this will be interesting. I already own a Kiesel X type guitar however so I’m not new to the headless thing and I prefer light gauges anyway.
My problem is with thé little screw that has a hard time tighning up with a 130. I guess it stripped either way Im not impress with headless
My Osiris was due for a string change so I dug through my B string bin to try a few.
First was a D'Addario NYXL .135 mainly because I wanted to verify that a .135 would fit the head piece. It fit fine but it was a little iffy getting the screw in there but it works. Sounded terrible. Very hollow sounding with no meat. I think a .135 is just too big to work right because of the extreme angles required on both ends of the headless hardware.
Next was a Kalium .130 tapered. Sounded worse than the D'Addario I think because the taper is way too long to work right on this bridge.
The win came with an SIT Nickel .128 from the SIT Dingwall set (I have these left over because I have to buy the 5 string set for my 4 string Dingwall). The taper is very short and clears the saddle just right and sounds fantastic.
