I have gone from a huge rack full of "stuff" that I could barely lift to a GKMB800, a Tech21 BDDI, and a pocket size Korg tuner.
I will go back to the rack if ever I am in the position to have a roadie, man servant, or personal slave.

i totally agree, light weight racks are awesome

i've done the mikro head thing & there was always something missing ( headroom )

i'm also running an ipr1600 bridged @ 8ohm into a MAS48 ( BIG E ) cab & it's lightweight, even with 2 different pre's & a wireless

will never go back to the mikro stuff

Now that they've released the IPR2's I'm keeping my eye open for another IPR 3000 at 'firesale' pricing. Mine's been bulletproof and I'm thinking of getting one for PA use...what given that's its intended purpose.

I would agree. My rack is 1500W (Carvin HD1500-Ampeg SVP-Pro-SKB case) and 20lbs. I do like a nice micro amp now and then, but if I can't haul 20lbs what have I become......

The other side of 'micro' technology is that you can have a full sized amp that only weighs 7 pounds and puts out kilowatts of power. 20 pounds isn't heavy, it will never fit in a gig bag, but super easy to heft.

Of course someone has to bellyache about weight- with molded plastics and light weight amps, you can get something in the 20 lb range that will out perform any dinky available, in fact will blow the doors off them. Tech is getting amazing these days.

Riis, the cable works great. The amp already kicked, but in bridged mode, it's at a new level. Absolutely makes a significant difference! Thank you again!
