Killswitch á la Tom Morello, anyone using one and how?

I'm definitely going to put one in my next project bass, theoretically it's pretty easy to wire up.
I especially like the way bucket head uses his killswitch, I'm sure it would be great for funking up rhythms.

If you get good with them, you can make your bass (with fuzz) sound more like a square wave synth by letting go of the button just after you hammer a note. Fun stuff. Would be easier if it worked backwards, but that'd require another switch to reverse it.

ProCo made a pedal called the cough drop - my guitarist happened upon one at a flea market in a whole box of stuff for $30 - all it is is a momentary switch that mutes when you press it and unmutes when you UNpress it (that's what it says right on the front). If you didn't want to modify your guitar, something like this would be extremely simple to make since it's just two jacks, a housing, that switch and a couple of wires.
I'm sure Mr. Fender didn't intend for it to be used this way, but I run my G&L L2000 passive with NO BATTERY installed and use the white toggle switch as a kill switch. If I remember correctly from seeing them live, Morello uses a toggle switch on his guitar (possibly switching to an unwired pickup position), as opposed to Buckethead, who actually has kill "buttons" built into his guitars.
There is also this tiny pedal from T1M to mute your sound with a momentary switch. Using your feet seems easier, to me, than moving your hand off the strings to a switch/button.
You can do it much faster with your fingers though. Depends what sort of effects you're after really.
One mod you could do is to get a momentary toggle (or pushbutton, as has been mentioned). That way, you push the switch, and it bounces back to neutral automatically. I suppose you could even wire up another switch to change the polarity of the kill switch--that is, one way, it could be "press to kill" and with the 2nd switch the other way, it would be "press to, um, resurrect." I know that Teuffel Guitars in Germany has a Invalid Link Removed that has several buttons, including an interrupt switch.

TBH I've been thinking about doing this mod to my Squier Jazz and trying to work out the best place to put the switch. I typically have my thumb over the front pup and I think putting momentary push-switches on either side would be good, so I can hit them with my thumb and finger. Would need to be far enough away to avoid accidentally resting on them though.
ahhh, now i get it .... could not find and see the actual green switch button in the video ... coolest killswitch ever.
Me and My dad my one of these. http://www.instructables.com/id/Removable-Guitar-Killswitch/ it works pretty good except u have have to use over drive or fuzz because it makes a popping noise on the clean signal.
I prefer to use a tremolo pan for this kind of effect. It's cleaner and much easier to use, especially on a multi with an expression pedal.
