So, I picked up my first bass (Ibanez SG300 in Roadster Orange) and amp (Acoustic B100) about a year ago, but work and life conspired to keep them sitting in a corner. In the last couple of weeks, work and life kind of stabilized, and I took care of some of the stuff I needed to. Lo and behold, the bass was waiting. The fact that I stumbled across the TB thread about the Gretsch 5123B, and soon after, stumbled across an actual 5123B at my local GC, which dutifully followed me home, didn't hurt either.
Now, I'm working on getting some basics down, and once I get that taken care of, I've got a couple of friends in local bands who can teach me a little more. I'm always open to more ideas.
