Chrome for Kids is a charity event/truck show held every year to raise money for the local children's hospital. The host is a local chrome shop that supplies the bigrig community, this is my 3rd year at this event this time I camped out on site (by camping I mean someone put me up on their bus$$), I loaded my rav4 to the gills with my pa system one bass and amp. The drummer I usually work with also arranged for one of my subs and monitors to get out to the site which is about an hour away from my place.

I had my turbosound IQ series speakers and x32 producer for this gig as well as some adj lighting using their wifly wireless system. Plan was for 2 bands and I was only going to do sound, but something happened and we had to cobble people together for the 2nd vanc. Either way my drummer friend who is one of the organizers provided his kit and I supplied my bass amp. We are well practiced at the set up dance and had it done in no time.

I am still new to the lighting stuff so I was anxious to get those up and running which I did manage to get running pretty quickly.

Saturday started with helping get the last few rigs in them at 11, I started prepping my x32 and the 1st vanc R&R Retrospect showed up and got set up. I have done sound for them a few times so was able to get them set up and soundchecked fairly quickly. They started at 1:30 and played 2 sets, Rosie is a fantastic vocalist.

I think this one would make a good gear hauler, Its a logging truck this company brought 6 rigs out, they were all decked out with lots of chrome and leds.

We also had a local radio station out on Saturday as well as a film crew for Discovery networks highway to help series. I will be playing/doing sound for their season premiere event in a few weeks. They had a dunk tank set up and the guys from the show all took turns getting dunked.

After the 1st band was done it was charity auction time. Most of the items are truck related of course but let me tell you these guys are a generous bunch, most items went for far more than retail. Every year there is a bidding war for a pair of chicken key chains. They went for about 800cad each this year.

I provided my wireless mic for the event and punched up quite a few of the "solds!" With echos and effects..Surprised the auctioneer at first but he got right into it...
