hey, a string question …i have a kk baby bass kb1…i want to install spirocore weich/light or solo set …what size fit best, ( 3/4 or 1/2 ) ? or do i have to cut the excess at peg box and / or let the silks go over bridge

? please advise / thank you

I purchased a KK Baby Bass, Traditional model, from Chris early this year. The strings that he shiped with it were not great. I have Spriocore Mediums on the acousic upright so I wanted to put Spricores on the KK. This time I tried the Spriocore Light/Weich and they work very well on the KK. Very even and they have a great feel. I purchased the 3/4 - 4/4 full size set and was able to wrap all the silk around the tuner rollers. It's pretty thick but it worked.
The best place that I found for strings was The String Emporium on line: Spriocore S42W - TSW-100. I also am fortunate to have a great regional bass shop in Greenboro, NC where I live - The Bass Violin Shop. The did some planning of the fretboard due to a 12th fret hump and adjusted it to my playing style.

The great Ruben Rodriguez plays 3/4 length Spirocore Solos on his baby basses. Assuming that the scale is similar to a baby bass, I'd get them. I don't know about cutting the afterlength or whether the silks will go over the bridge, but a little dampening at the bridge on a BB never hurts anything, so I've never worried about that. I've tried Weich and Solo 4/4 on mine and much prefer the Solos.
